Technology Demonstrations

  • Data Center Cooling: Use Simscape to model a data center cooling system with chilled and condenser water loops, a cooling tower, and a chiller.
  • Peak Shaving with Battery Energy Storage System: Model a battery energy storage system controller and a battery management system with all the necessary functions for peak shaving, following the IEEE Std 1547-2018 and IEEE 2030.2.1-2019 standards.
  • Machine Learning and Deep Learning for Energy Forecasting: Leverage MATLAB to forecast electricity loads and electrical demands of data centers. Nonlinear regression and neural network-based modeling techniques are used to demonstrate accurate modeling using historical, seasonal, day-of-the week, and temperature data.
