Pragmatic Strategies for Adopting Model-Based Design for Embedded Applications

By Eric Dillaber, Larry Kendrick, Wensi Jin, and Vinod Reddy, MathWorks

Organizations that are transitioning to Model-Based Design find the iterative process do, learn, adjust, and repeat is the most effective approach. The end goal is a development process where the model is the design, verification is performed throughout development using simulation, and the implementation of the entire application onto target hardware is automated. This paper presents a set of practical strategies for determining the first steps to take when using Model-Based Design and code generation in production development processes.
