Why do I receive an error about "oversubscribed dynamic bit lengths tree" when installing MATLAB?

When installing MATLAB, I receive the following error:
ERROR: oversubscribed dynamic bit lengths tree
Would you like to retry installing MATLAB? If you press No, the installer will exit without completing the installation.
If I attempt to retry the installation fails. How can I install MATLAB?

This error typically occurs when installing MATLAB from downloads and one or more of the installation files are corrupt or did not download successfully. To resolve this issue, try downloading the installation files again.
This error may also occur when installing from DVD if the disc is corrupted or the DVD drive cannot read the installation media. In that case, you can request a new DVD from our Customer Service team here:
