To fit the angular distribution with a given equation.

1 view (last 30 days)
I have a data (A) with two columns Rho and Theta (in polar coordinates).
If I plot the histogram of Theta, I get Y(Theta).
I want to fit Y(Theta) into equation Y(Theta)=(sigma/4pi)[1 + b/2(3*cos^2(Theta)-1)] to fit for the best "sigma" and "b" parameters.
Can anyone give me the program or help me to make this program?

It's a linear equation in sigma and b*sigma. Just use mldivide().
