Joining Images using edge features

I have two fragments of an image, without the original image. Edge features such as boundary pixels and chain code have been obtained. My problem is joining those images by comparing those features. This is with reference to this Paper and Image reconstruction. Thank you.

Basically we can't help with the algorithm but only with MATLAB code. Come back if you have MATLAB questions since we can't help with complicated algorithm development.
