How can I convert an .xls spreadsheet to FFT format?

3 views (last 30 days)
I am trying to transform data gathered from accelerometers from the frequency/time domain to FFT format for analysis. How can I do that?
The data looks as shown and has 1048574 cells each column. Not all data is able to view due to the file size, but data should be there. The data was gathered at 2000 Hz for around 6 minutes. I also, need to plot the data.

hello
try this code . It will do averaged FFT (with overlap) and time / frequency spectrogram
a few mods need still to be done to read the data : simply modify the right column number of the excel file you want to analyse and specify Fs = 2000;
the code allows linear and dB(A) weighting
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
% load signal
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
filename = ('data.xlsx');
data = xlsread(filename); % 5 channels : Time + 4 column of different voltages signal in time domain
time = data(:,1);
dt = mean(diff(time));
signal = data(:,2:5); % select here one or several channels
Fs = 1/dt; % sampling rate
[samples,channels] = size(signal);
% time vector
t = (0:samples-1)*dt;

hello
this function belongs to the Signal Processing Toolbox
do you have it ?

if not then put this function at the end of the main code
hope it helps !
function w = hanning(n)
% Symmetric Hanning window.
% Returns an exactly symmetric N point window by evaluating
% the first half and then flipping the same samples over the other half.
if rem(n,2)>0
% Odd length window
m = (n+1)/2;
w = .5*(1 - cos(2*pi*(1:m)'/(n+1)));
w = [w; w(end-1:-1:1)];
else
% Even length window
m = n/2;
w = .5*(1 - cos(2*pi*(1:m)'/(n+1)));
w = [w; w(end:-1:1)];
end
end
