Segmentation Fault (Core Dumped) after Update to MATLAB R2023a

67 views (last 30 days)
Hello,
I have recently update MATLAB from MATLAB R2022a to MATLAB R2023a.
After update, MATLAB suddenly turned off while using MATLAB GUI such as writing scripts, and shows me the error message:
segmentation fault (core dumped)
I have had no problem using MATLAB R2022a, so I'm not sure why it starts to happen.
I'm currently using CentOS7 and MATLAB R2023a.
Please advise how I could fix this error. Thank you.

Did you try reinstalling MATLAB? Also, try disabling any third-party toolboxes or add-ons and start MATLAB with clean environment

Hey Sarah,
I understand you MATLAB is suddenly turning off and you are getting ‘segmentation fault’ as error message. Some workarounds for the issue are as follows:
  1. Try reinstalling MATLAB and rebooting your device.
  2. Also you can try running the command – ‘sudo apt-get install matlab-support’ with reference to How can I fix the "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" bug? - MATLAB Answers - MATLAB Central (mathworks.com)
Hope this helps.
