Colormaps

Hi everyone, i wasnted to know how can i use imshow to print a matrix "X" using diferent colormaps. X is a [256x512x3] matrix with values give from the code below
X=zeros(256,512,3);
for i=1:256
X(i,:,:)=i;
end
im=im2uint8(X);

No. You are creating a true color RGB image, so colormaps are not applicable at all. Colormaps only apply to what MAtLAB calls "indexed" images, which are nothing more than a grayscale image with a pseudocolor look up table (a colormap) applied to it upon display.
