I'm having trouble seperating a tiff image which has 50 bands (600x450x50) into 10 bands, 20 bands, 30 bands,40 bands.

suppose the images has 50 bands , and i would like to divide it into first 10, 20,30, 40 bands. I want to check whether i can see some data using 1-10 bands and 1-20 bands and 1-30bands and 1-40 bands.

Are the bands stored as images in subdirectories, or as images in full directories, or as Associated Information ? Have you solved the problem of reading all of the information from the file?
