Is it reasonable to use MATLAB in an industry ?

Hi All
I don't know how difused is MATLAB usage in different industries, but I wanted to know , to have the capabilities like mechanism analysis, and sensor signals analysis and also production management, is it reasonable to use MATLAB in industry ?
