Automatic saving behaviour in R2016b on OSX - bug or feature?

1 view (last 30 days)
I have a couple of tabs in the Editor open. If I edit code in one tab, never save it, and then simply click on a different tab, the code in the first tab is saved. Both the asterisk next to the filename is gone, and I see it saved on my file system. Is this behaviour intended?

Documented feature, introduced in release R2014b. That entry in the Release Notes includes instructions for how to turn that feature off, if you would prefer MATLAB not to automatically save your file.
