MATLAB arduino requiements to use the Adafruit library.

In the need to build a robotic arm I was looking at building one using the MATLAB IDE rather than the arduino Ide, I am on the verge of buying a motor driver which is compatible with the arduino interface and i have a doubt wheter the same could be used over the MATLAB IDE as in the documentation there is support for the Adafruit version only.

Can you please tell me wheter i could use the following using the MATLAB Ide?
