Thingspeak license along with academic license of MATLAB

My college provides its students with an academic license for MATLAB. Do i get a student license of thingspeak along with it or do i have to buy it seperately? my project requires me to update channel info every second.

If your college has an academic license for ThingSpeak, you can ask your college administrator to add you as a Licensed End User on that license. If your college does not have an academic license of ThingSpeak, and you need access to the paid features (such as the 1 second update rate), you can purchase a student or academic license after having logged into ThingSpeak.

Nothing big, i will just transmit some string or letters from my app in a field of thingspeak and read it from my nodeMCU board to control the motors on my robot, while also sending sensor data from bot to my app. I wanted to control the bot over the internet but the 15 seconds restriction on data is not suitable to control a robot. I thought due to the close integration of MATLAB with thingspeak i would get some benefits on thingspeak as i have a license for MATLAB and have registered using my Mathworks account.

Thanks for the information on your project. You might be able to use the bulk write feature to send multiple instructions at once. Even the 1 second update may make it difficult to control the robot in real time.
The close integration of Mathworks and ThingSpeak lets you use MATLAB for visualizations and analysis in ThingSepak. Having a MATLAB license allows you to use most of the toolboxes you are licensed to use in the ThingSpeak environment as well.
Have a look at How to Buy for prices. It can be reletively inexpensive, especially if you consider the per message cost.
