Can't use Symbolic Toolbox after buying it and installing it

7 views (last 30 days)
Hi, so I have a home license and I recently bought the symbolic toolbox. I then downloaded the installation package from the link that was emailed to me. The installation updated my version of MATLAB and downloaded the Symblic Toolbox. Yet I still can't use it. If I do a syms command for example I am getting:
'syms' requires Symbolic Math Toolbox.
Any idea on how I can fix this ? should I contact MATLAB support or did I do something wrong ?

Does the toolbox show up if you use ver ? What shows up if you use
license('test','Symbolic_Toolbox')
Did you go through the activation process, which should have updated your license file?

No the toolbox doesn't actually show up in ver and the output of the license command is 0. So I guess it was not activated correctly ? I remember MATLAB asking me to update the license the first time I used the toolbox, I clicked on update then I was asked to restart MATLAB. After that I just get the above mentioned message each time I try to use the toolbox.
