xshapes explorer is a kaleidoscope-like recreational app that lets you create a variety of geometric figures and render them in any of dozens of different color schemes. Because all of the inputs to the app have default values, all you need to do to get started is to click on the GO button. After this, you can change inputs one at a time or in arbitrary combinations and observe the effects. The app will not allow invalid values to be entered, so there is no chance of generating an execution error. Another way to get started is to check the Random radio button under Color Map and then repeatedly click on GO. Each time, a new set of figures in a new color scheme will be generated. All of the individual images generated during a run of the app can be saved. The app can also make the saved images into a video. NB: This app requires the Image Processing Toolbox.
