Modeling of a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) BAJA All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV)

From the series: Improving Your Racecar Development

Veer Alakshendra, MathWorks
Christoph Hahn, MathWorks

Veer Alakshendra and Christoph Hahn show how you can model a BAJA All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) using physical blocks available in Simscape Driveline™. Initially, they discuss the basic components of an ATV and how these components can be assembled together in Simscape Driveline to model a full vehicle. They also discuss the effects of parameter variation and how simulation can speed up the design stage. Finally, they present a model based on a lookup table approach.

You can find the example models used in this video on MATLAB Central File Exchange.
