What Is WLAN Toolbox?

This video contains a short summary of the WLAN Toolbox™ features and capabilities in R2020a. It shows how WLAN Toolbox users can model, simulate, analyze, and test WLAN (Wi-Fi) communications systems in MATLAB®. It also highlights major use cases of the toolbox, such as waveform generation, link-level simulation, golden reference design verification, and system-level modeling and simulation.

WLAN Toolbox enables you to simulate, analyze, and test WLAN communications systems.

The toolbox supports waveform generation, golden reference design verification, link- level and System-level Simulations.

You can generate waveforms for various IEEE 802.11 standards either interactively using the wireless waveform generator app or programmatically using waveform generator MATLAB functions.

Perform link-level simulations of WLAN systems.

Using channel models specified by the standards, you can analyze link performance by computing metrics such as packet error rate, bit error rate, and throughput.

You also can perform signal measurements such as EVM, modulation accuracy, channel power and spectral emission mask.

Recover signal information and perform receiver operations including frame synchronization, channel estimation and equalization.

Generate, parse and decode 802.11 MAC frames And Recover beacon packets.

Perform system-level multi-node simulations including MAC and PHY layer operations.

You can compute system-level metrics and Model traffic scheduling and characterize the effects of interference.

You can access all WLAN Toolbox features directly as open MATLAB code and use these customizable algorithms as a golden reference for design verification.

WLAN Toolbox functions can be converted into C or C++ source code using MATLAB Coder. This enables you to accelerate simulation, access C source code directly, or use it as a standalone executable.
