Provide Access to MathWorks Products for Campus-Wide License Users

As the administrator of a Campus-Wide License, you need to provide your users with the information they need to get started with MATLAB®, update MATLAB installations, and access other MathWorks® products and services.

Get Users Started with MATLAB

To get students, staff, and faculty started on the Campus-Wide License, provide them with the following instructions for installing MATLAB on personal computers. During these steps, users create a MathWorks Account by linking their university email address to the license.

  1. Go to the Campus-Wide License portal provided by your university.

  2. Under Get MATLAB and Simulink, click Sign in to get started.

  3. Sign in or create a new MathWorks Account. When creating an account, provide your university email address.

  4. Click Install MATLAB and follow the prompts to download and install MATLAB products. When prompted, select the license labeled MATLAB (Individual).

The first time you run MATLAB on a specific computer, you are prompted to sign in to your MathWorks Account. Thereafter, you can work offline on that computer.

Update MATLAB

To have users add toolboxes or other products to MATLAB, get bug fix updates of existing MATLAB installations, or install new MATLAB releases, provide them with the relevant instructions in Installing Products.

Access Other Products and Services

To allow users to access other products and services available with the Campus-Wide License, provide them with these resources:

  • Access MATLAB Online™MATLAB Online provides access to the latest release of MATLAB from a standard web browser using computing resources and storage hosted by MathWorks. To open MATLAB Online, go to matlab.mathworks.com and click Open MATLAB Online.

  • Access Online Training — To access self-paced interactive courses, see the Online Training section of matlab.mathworks.com.

  • Install Other Products — To install products other than MATLAB, see Install Polyspace, RoadRunner, and Server Products. Before users can install one of these products, you must first add them to that product's license by following the procedure described in Add or Remove Visitors on Campus-Wide License.
