Matcont | Bifurcation Analysis | "error using get conversion to double from cell is not possible"

I have used matcont (for a bifurcation analysis) in the past successfully, but for some reason, this time it's throwing up this error and behaving strangely overall.

After solving an ODE, when I try to select the last point/value (in order to do bifurction analysis later), it says, "error using get conversion to double from cell is not possible".

Other time, the buttons "Select", "Compute", "Window", "Type", "Option", all or some of them, are not clickable. Kindly help.

Some of what you describe can happen if there is an extra copy of a GUI open. Be sure to close all copies of the GUI before you begin.

I closed down all other windows of matlab, but still the issue persists. Now when I try to close down matcont and click "exit", it says, "Dot indexing is not supported for variables of this type".
