hello everyone
i have matlab version R2017b (student license) and i purchased toolboxes (needed for school projects) also i purchased a maintenance license
now if i want to get R2018a version:
1- am i going to be charged the full price ?
2- for the toolboxes i already paid for, should i buy them again? or it will be a free download?

1) No, you will not have to pay full price. You will just have to pay the maintenance fee.

2) The toolboxes you purchased and are still within service end date will be allowed to install on R2018a. For other licenses, you will have to pay a maintenance fee to use them on R2018a. You can continue to use them for free on R2017b.

If you are already within the 1 year term for which you have paid software maintenance, then there is no additional charge to upgrade to R2018a on MATLAB and all toolboxes you had previously licensed.
If you wanted to buy additional toolboxes then you might not be able to do so against R2017b -- I am unclear on what the limits are for back-purchases for student licenses.
However because you are under maintenance you could download R2018a and buy the hypothetical additional toolboxes (that you do not already have) against that version.
