I don't know why this error often happens.
Rerunning it solves this problem. But that is a temporary solution.

It can be easier for us to help your if you show your code aor describe a situation when it happens

I get the same situation from time to time, for no obvious reasons. Once it starts, it tends to keep occurring every now and then until I restart Matlab. The problem seems confined to the Matlab Java-based GUI without affecting calculations, so I consider it more of a nuisance than a serious problem. I never saw this in Windows 7, so my hypothesis is that there may be some minor incompatibility between my rather old Matlab version (R2014b) and Windows 10.
