Simulink menu bar incredibly slow on Linux

9 views (last 30 days)
Hello, I am currently running Matlab and Simulink 2020a on Linux (Pop Os! 19..10), and the Simulink editor bar has been running incredibly slow for me. When I reference the menu bar this is what I'mr referring to:
Interacting with the model itself, simulating, and the normal matlab editor and menu bar all work fine. Just the Simulink menu is painfully slow. I'm talking try to switch to the Simulation or Modeling tab takes 15-30s. What even stranger is the first time I booted up Simulink everything ran fine. This only apppered after I opened Simulink a sperate time several days later. I am specifically trying to run this demo, but the problem persists no matter the model.
Furthermore, my computer has 16GB RAM so I'm not bottlenecked there. Anyone know what is going on?

I'm running into this problem too (Ubuntu 18.04)! Would love to get an answer from MATLAB about this

Update: I found running matlab in openGL mode fixes this issue. Heres how to do it.
