The aim of this project is to develop a vision solution to perform simple and highly accurate eye examination for myopia patient. Automated Prescription Lens Calculator introduced a new real-time method to estimate the level of myopia (measured in Diopter1) relative to the ability a person to see a reference object clearly. The concept behind it is distance estimation using triangle similarities.
A continuous image streams is captured and preprocessed to look for desired reference object. Applying image segmentation, blob analysis, and pixel operation, together with the intrinsic parameters of camera devices, a highly accurate Diopter value is computed. Under controlled environment, we achieved up to 98% accuracy in Diopter value estimation.
