Simscape file for inductor with eddy currents in core

Simscape file for an inductor with cylindrical conducting core.
Updated 16 Sep 2020

Models the impedance of an inductor with a cylindrical conducting magnetic core as described in references [1] and [2] below. Input paremeters L0 and R0, are described in [2], are based on the dimensions and material properties of the cylindrical core. For geometries other than a simple cylindrical core, reasonable values for L0 and R0 may be found from measurements.

This file uses features of Simscape that were first introduced with MATLAB version R2020a. This code was developed and tested using the MathWorks academic license at Penn State University that includes many MATLAB and Simulink toolboxes. However it uses only components that are available in the Simscape Foundation Library. The author believes that a license that includes MATLAB, Simulink and Simscape should be sufficient to use this file.
