Is there any problem with function image() when creating GUI? when i am using it not in gui i dont have any problem. but in my GUI it just doesnt show anything but the grid, no data. If i use pcolor() instead of image() it works fine.

No there is no problem. You probably overwrote it with a variable. Did you do anything like
image = imread('cameraman.tif');

By the way, don't use pcolor for images because it chops off the last row and last column. Try this and see what you get:
pcolor(magic(4)) % Try to display a 4 by 4 image - only shows 3x3.
