What does the "seed" parameter in Uniform Random Number generator change in the block's behaviour?

Hello,
I don´t quite understand what does the "seed" parameter in Uniform Random Number generator change in block´s behaviour?
The help says:
" Specify the starting seed for the random number generator. The default is 0. The seed must be 0 or a positive integer. Output is repeatable for a given seed.".
Could someone tell me in other words what does this parameter do, because I don´t catch the idea of it...?
Thank you for any kind of help!

Every time you run your simulink model, for a constant seed, the block generate the same sequence of random numbers. If you want to get different sequences, change the seed
