How to transfer a license to a new hard drive on the same laptop?
Show older comments
My original hard drive was failing so I uninstalled MatLab and tried to deactivate it but I couldn't find a way to do so. MatLab was installed successfully on the hard drive but when launching the application, I get the following error:
License checkout failed.
License Manager Error -9
The hostid of your computer (DISK_SERIAL_NUM=40140fd3)does not
match the hostid of the license file
(DISK_SERIAL_NUM=a0b78ab0).
Please advise how to clear this error and reactivate on the new hard drive of the same laptop.

Have you resolved this issue? How did you manage to transfer your licence to the new hard disk?

You might have to call them if you can't login to their web site and deactivate an installation.
