how to read hdf5 file in matlab 7.0 version?

The following command does'nt work in matlab 7.0 version. it works in matlab 7.4 version though. How can i read a hdf5 file in matlab version 7.0?

    >> lonTIR = hdf5read(fname,'/VHRR/Geo-Location/Longitude');
