Backgroung Image shld be transparent

Hello everyone, I am doing a project in matlab and i wanted to create a gui which contains the ddescription of my project. i want to add an background image and that shld be transparent and i must be able to insert text on the background. can i know how to make the image transparent and add text on the background image.can anyone help me?
