The problem of timer's period delay

I use timer function to update pictures and set 'period' as 1s.

But as time passes, timer's period is growing such as 1.1s, 1.2s, 1.3s.... (I checked through handles.timer)

Why does it happens?

I expect that it happens because a lot of pictures are updated during timer's period.

Does picture update affect on timer's period?

See timer class, Create object to schedule execution of MATLAB commands. Especially

• 'ExecutionMode' and
• 'BusyMode'

are relevant to your problem. Are you sure 1s is enough to update the pictures?
