I was given a executable file to run a matlab program. I downloaded the MCR R2014a 64 bit for windows to run it. It runs on Windows 7 machines, but not on Windows 8.1. How can I get it to run on Win8.1?

I do not have Matlab installed so there is no PATH conflict here.

Like Star said, it's best to contact tech support, especially since you didn't give any details, like what's printed out in the console window, that might help us figure out why it didn't launch successfully. It could be almost anything.

To check it out:
- Install MATLAB 2014a on Windows 8.1 machine and test if your code runs well.
- Make sure if your code uses external files like database or dat file that files are located in same expected location.
