Maximum Number of Rows in Matlab

I'm importing large text files. What is the maximum number of rows Matlab can handle?

It depends on data type and amount of column.

I'm running windows xp, 32-bit. According to the link, I should be able to work with file sizes up to ~1700MB - correct? So there is no row size restriction, as in excel?
