Issue running Matlab2014b and 2015a on Yosemite
Show older comments
On opening Matlab it starts using a lot of CPU, which increases up to 500% before it spits out a Java out of memory error.
I'm using Yosemite 10.10.2 on a 2013 MacBook Retina Pro.
The problem occurs with Matlab2014b and Matlab2015a, but not with Matlab2013b.
Recently updated Java to Version 8, update 31. To the best of my knowledge all versions of Matlab were running fine prior to this update.
I have followed the directions here (<http://au.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/103056-how-do-i-change-the-java-virtual-machine-jvm-that-matlab-is-using-for-mac-os#answer_112402>) to change the Java used but the same problem occurs under both >> java -version Java 1.7.0_55-b13 and >> java -version Java 1.8.0_31-b15
