Why won't my Arduino Nano 33BLE create a communication link with the serial port in Simulink R2023a?

I have an Arduino Nano 33BLE which is supported by MATLAB R2023a. I've installed the support packages for Arduino in both MATLAB and Simulink and I received confirmation that the Arduino is detected and ready for use.
I can connect with MATLAB and create an Arduino object, but whenever I try any design in Simulink I get the following error:
Unable to create communication link with serial port in Simulink.
Please check with input argument PORT and verify that the device is connected.
How can I get Simulink to connect to the Arduino?

For the Arduino Nano 33BLE, both the Host COM port and Bootloader COM port need to be specified for Simulink to build and deploy a design to the board.
