Execute code in Simulink prior to StartFcn?

When the user clicks play on a Simulink model, I need to execute some code immediately. The StartFcn seems to do some compiling etc. prior to running. Can I execute code immediately after play (ie, before compiling, updating model, etc)?

Does the InitFcn callback do what you want? InitFcn will run during this model update phase.
