How to import data from workspace to simulink using input port (not simin or from mat file)

You should make use of from workspace(simin) block for importing data from workspace. Inport block is used to establish the link between the susbsystem and the root. But still if you want to make use of inport block define time series and data vector as columns in workspace. You can then go to simulation configuration paramemters > data import/export , there you can specify the input matrix(m x 2)
