Why drawnow ; is given after imshow in matlab?

This is used to flush the graphic queue so you can see the change on screen. This is often used in animation so you can see the graph change during a loop. Otherwise, the program may accumulate the queue and flush it at the end of loop and you don't see the animation effect.
