Alternative for using Servo Write Arduino in Simulink

Good day,

I have read in the help section that the Servo Write block should not be used in 'EXTERNAL' mode in Simulink.

Is there any alternative for me to write the values to a servo through Simulink to Arduino.

Is there a specific reason that you need to use External mode and cannot use Normal mode?

It is because I would want it to run on the Arduino Board and collect data through the analog pins and sent them into Matlab. Is it possible to do the same with Normal mode ?

I am not aware of a straight forward way to do this with the servo being in the picture.
