Plotting magnitude vs frequency
Show older comments
Hi,
I am wanting plot the magnitude vs frequency for a capacitor. This seems like it should be pretty easy and straight forward in Matlab, but I'm not sure how to do that. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Josh

Is the capacitor in series or parallel with the source (with respect to how the voltage and current are measured), are there any associated resistances or inductances (for example lead resistances or inductances and their values in Ohms or Henrys), what is the value of the capacitor (Farads) and what frequencies (Hz) are you measuring? Are any parasitic inductances or capacitances (and their values) present?

i have a similar question, working on HVDC terminal station, "plot the magnitude of the filter impedance as a function of frequency up to the 23rd harmonic frequency" I'm using single tuned harmonic filter. given in the question the inductor values for L(5,7,11,13), the capacitor values for them and the resistors. Q= 50 for all,
(high pass) Chp=0.834*10^-6, Rhp=226 , Lhp=0.042 , Q=1.
Sk= 23127Mva
Uk=0.15
voltage on transformer = 275/116KV

Hi,
You can use the SimPowerSystems in MATLAB to model and simulate any electrical system.To build and simulate an electrical circuit please refer to the link below:
And, the link below explains how to analyze a simple electric circuit and generate plots of frequency versus impedance or frequency versus phase:
