Solving a coupled system of pdepe in different domains.

Hello, I have a question. I have seen the example pdex5. It is an example which demonstrates how we can solve a system of coupled PDEs using pdepe solver. If I double the domain how can I only solve the first PDE and plot it? Does someone has an idea? Thank.
