I am sure there should be a solution out there for using matlab with different alphabet that Latin.
When I run a script with Cyrillic strings from the command window, the code works fine.
When I try to run a script from the editor window the encoding is confused. When I save the .m file, and then open it the Cyrillic strings are lost and only ? characters appear. Also the gui displays ?? characters. The Windows is set for English settings if this matters.

Unfortunately when your locale is set to English, MATLAB saves files as 8 bits rather than as UTF-8 .
