Several Line Appearing as on check in plot browser

I am trying to show the relationship between two point in a graph. I can connect them using line or plot, however, each line line segement appears in the plot browser as a check box. I want the interconnecting lines to appear as a single check box so I can turn them off and on easily.

mmm if you have a list of the points try making a single vector separated by Nan, which won't plot.

x=[p1;p2;NaN;p3;p4;NAN;p5....]; y=...same thing; h=plot(x,y)
  set(h,'visible','off')
