How to track the x & y coordinates of an object in a video?

For an experiment I will need to track the x & y coordinates of the corner of a rectangular platform.

I can place a coloured dot on this corner to conduct object tracking if need be.

I will need to export the x & y coordinates of this corner/coloured object multiple times per second and save them into a document to be analyzed at a later time.

I have practically zero programming experience, any guidance will help. If someone has done this before and can share code for it that would be great.
