            The plot doesn't work when you run it, it says thplot is undefined...

        You do not initialize thplot, so it is assigned a value only if
for iStep=1:nStep
executes at least one step. The for loop would not execute any steps if nStep is empty or less than 1.
nStep = input('Enter number of steps: ');
You are not validating that the user entered a positive integer.
