error when installing matlab to personal server

once i get to the install part i type sudo ./install and get error

terminate called after throwing an instance of '(anonymous namespace)::DisplayError'

what(): No display available.

Aborted

and now if i just type in ./install instead of sudo ./install I get the same error

what(): No display available.

Aborted (core dumped)

It is not letting me run the install file on the server. Any tips? its R2020a
