IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad trackpoint scrolling does not work

2 views (last 30 days)
Several years ago, a question was raised about the inability to scroll in Matlab on an IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad using the TrackPoint in conjunction with the center button. Scrolling works in most other programs, but not in Matlab.
The solution referenced modifying a file in the Program Files/Synaptics directory. There is no such directory on my machine.
Is there some way to enable scrolling in Matlab using the TrackPoint and center button?

Windows 7 update
The location of the tp4table.dat file in Windows 7 64-bit is C:\Program Files\Lenovo\TrackPoint.
Modify this file according to these instructions:

For Win Vista, tp4table.dat is found in C:/Windows/System32. After editing as described in
and restarting, scrolling now works in Matlab!

Maybe it just specific to the X series tablets. I've had three of them now, and had the same problem on each one.
