Can I run MATLAB smoothly on Macbook air?

I want to buy a Macbook. Personally, I prefer to buy a Macbook air as it is much cheaper than MBP. Since I mostly work with MATLAB R2012b, I would like to know whether MATLAB runs smoothly on a Macbook air with following specs: CPU: 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 2.8GHz) L3 Cache 3MB shared Memory: 4GB of 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
Any help and benchmark is appreciated. Thanks for the help in advance
