Title: Buck-Boost Converter Educational Lab Simulator
Overview:
This interactive application provides an educational environment for students to explore the fundamental operations of a Buck-Boost DC-DC converter. Designed using MATLAB App Designer, this tool visualizes the transition between Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) and Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM), allowing students to observe the relationship between electrical parameters and circuit behavior in real-time.
Key Features:
- Real-time Waveform Analysis: Instantaneously plots Inductor Current and Output Voltage based on slider inputs (Vin, D, f, L, R, C).
- Dynamic Mode Visualization: Automatically highlights the active switching topology (Mode I: Switch ON vs. Mode II: Switch OFF) to help students visualize the current flow.
- Educational LaTeX Integration: Displays key engineering equations dynamically, including the critical inductance boundary calculation.
- Automated Lab Reporting: Built-in "Lab Assessment" generator allows students to export their simulation findings and answers to 10 analytical questions directly into a printable HTML/PDF report.
How to Use:
- Download and Install the App File.
- App will be installed in your Appa Tab.
- Adjust the sliders to observe how variations in Duty Cycle and Frequency affect the converter’s stability and output.
Recommended Use:
This application is ideal for undergraduate Power Electronics laboratory courses to demonstrate non-linear circuit behavior and the importance of component sizing in power converter design.
