A small function that reads time series data from the FRED2 server directly into MATLAB. This function requires a working internet connection.
The FRED2 server (http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/) is one of the most comprehensive sources for macroeconomic and financial data. It provides more than 60.000 different time series.
Updated to include start and end date for a series.
