Flow Profiles (Velocity and Shear Stress) for flows in different geometries (i.e. flow between infinite parallel plates, vertical falling film, pipe or annular flow, couette rheometer and boundary layer theory).
FloPro is my school project designed to help you visualise velocity and shear stress profiles for fluid flow in various situations. Due to the nature of the assumptions made in order to arrive at these analytical solutions, results of FloPro should be used at your discretion. Using FloPro to find practical solutions for real-life engineering purposes is discouraged.
Guidelines:
1. On the homepage, choose which geometry you need to analyse flow profiles for.
2. Type the numerical input variables into the edit fields provided. Required units are stated next to them.
3. Please wait for a few seconds for the graphs to be plotted.
4. Velocity/Shear stress at a specific location can be calculated at the bottom by providing the height/radius required.
Source code can be found in the app (top right hand corner for each geometry) to aid you in understanding the formulas behind it!
